"TV Party" - Black Flag

Ok, you don't like the TV programs but don't put your TV set on the boardwalk.
(Nota : it's forbidden to put your rubbishes on the boardwalk).

"World" - Sharon Tandy

Another stenciling, like the one I posted three days ago. No time to write a text today. Good evening or morning ...

lundi 28 mai 2007

"Out Of Time" - Chris Farlowe

A part of the Quincampoix street, a very old street in the 1st arrondissement of Paris.

dimanche 27 mai 2007

"Test Drive" - The Mummies

Keep your eyes wide open and read the signs :
- don't exceed the speed limit (30 km/h)
- be carefull, there is the public works
- don't turn to the left
- if you're a bus, you don't have to be there !!
- after the traffic lights, the double-track way becomes a one-track way.
Good luck !!

"Sad" - El Perro Del Mar

No comment (nothing to say, just look at this stenciling).

vendredi 25 mai 2007

"Thunder Express" - MC5

The sky after the violent thunder we had this evening.

jeudi 24 mai 2007

"Monkeyboy" - The Hellacopters

Let's have a drink with a monkey and his panther (why not ?).

mercredi 23 mai 2007

"Sittin'" - Mississippi Sheiks

I've found this line of benches (16 !!) in a park but I didn't understand the utility of it ...

mardi 22 mai 2007

"As Long As The Grass Shall Grow" - Johnny Cash

"Keep Off The Grass" .... but where is the grass ?

lundi 21 mai 2007

"Alabama Song" - David Bowie

I've already post the same kind of "vintage" ad here, but not for the same liquor.

dimanche 20 mai 2007

"In My Eyes" - Minor Threat

This graffiti is a part of a wall wich was completly recovered, but this one was very good.

samedi 19 mai 2007

"Ain't No Mystery" - Smash Mouth

(No post yesterday : a Blogger problem)
I've read an article in a French magazine about the suspended shoes. I took this photo at La Butte-Aux-Cailles street. It seems that this same phenomenon appeared in several cities (Vancouver, San Francisco, Sydney, London etc...). The object of this installation is not clear and there is several explanations : a den of a drug dealer, a marriage, end of school... I don't know if another Daily City Blog has post something about it.

"Don't Think Twice" - Mike Ness

"Ne Pensez Pas Trop Fort" means "Don't Think Too Loud".
Is it an advice ?

mercredi 16 mai 2007

"Walking The Back Streets" - Little Milton

A little passage in the 20th.
Note the irregular architecture of the buildings.

mardi 15 mai 2007

"Dancing Shoes" - Lee Scratch Perry

A new service in Paris ? Maybe the "take-away" shoes.
Unfortunately these are our lasts we have ...

lundi 14 mai 2007

"Deadwood" - The Dirty Pretty Things

It's a sculpture made by Roland Cros, an artist who was exposed in the Belleville park. He carves wood-board with a chainsaw and here is the result. You can see others sculptures on another photo blog.

dimanche 13 mai 2007

"The Flight Of The Bumble Bee" - Rimsky-Korsakov

A little bit of nature and tranquility among these urban pics.

samedi 12 mai 2007

"Grey Day" - Madness

A parisian building in the grey sky (note the architecture of the roof).

vendredi 11 mai 2007

"Devil's Haircut" - Beck

Like this hairdresser (for women only !), a lot of shops wich close their doors start a second career as a bill-board ...
I like the 60's-70's (I'd say 70's but I'm not sure) lettering of the sign-board.

jeudi 10 mai 2007

"Billy's Bones" - The Pogues

There is more than 500 space invaders in Paris, so I won't try to find them all. I think I'll post from time to time those I like most. You can find informations about them here.

mercredi 9 mai 2007

"Motorbike Beat" - The Revillos

A vintage motor-bike, I don't know the brand of this one (if someone knows, let me know).

mardi 8 mai 2007

"Big Bad World" - Cathy Saint

This photo (it's written : "vote nothing, burn everything") illustrates the incidents of the two last nights in Paris and in other citys of France. The demonstrators (or breakers) show their discontent of the results of the election by burning cars and breaking shop-windows. It's the first time it happens after an election.

lundi 7 mai 2007

"Rock'n Roll" - Strychnine

The lettering is not original but someone who writes "Rock'N Roll" on a wall can't be bad (and deserves a little tribute).

dimanche 6 mai 2007

"Keep It Cool" - The Aggrolites

A picture of a very quiet corridor of the metro.

samedi 5 mai 2007

"En Dansant Le Yah!" - Les Breastfeeders

My first picture of a live show, it could have been better and I hope you'll be lenient ... I'll do my best next time.
The band : The Beastfeeders from Montreal, to my mind, the best Rock & Roll band. They play a mix of garage rock and power-pop with some 60's references. It was their first show in France in a bar called "La Flêche d'Or" (the Golden Arrow), an ancient train station. "La Flêche d'Or" takes its name from the train wich made the connection Calais-Paris.

vendredi 4 mai 2007

"Mystery Train" - Brian Setzer

A view of an unused railway wich passes by the Buttes Chaumont, Ménilmontant.

jeudi 3 mai 2007

"Donde Fue" - The Slackers

Here is a small courtyard near the Belleville street.

mercredi 2 mai 2007

"I Wish" - Babyshambles

A little view of the "Colonnes de Buren", a monument wich created a big polemic in 1986. You can make a wish while launching a coin on the column ; if you touch it, your wish will be fulfil (I didn't try).

mardi 1 mai 2007

"Down In The Tube Station" - The Jam

Today is lily of the valley-day, demonstration-day and rest-day.
And now something completly different : I found this very original metro station near the Palais-Royal (metro station : Palais-Royal Musée Du Louvre).
